Prof Sibusiso Chalufu has worked in the higher education sector for over 30 years, 18 of which have been in senior and executive management positions in academia and in student affairs and services (SAS). Apart from lecturing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he has also successfully supervised Masters’ students and serves as external examiner for Masters’ and Doctoral studies at 3 South African universities. He obtained qualifications from universities in South Africa, United Kingdom and United State of America. He has participated in several initiatives and projects in the HE space, recent of which is Universities South Africa (USAf)’s “Reshaping universities to create Student-Centered Higher Education Systems in SA”, where Prof Chalufu was invited to be a Member of the Advisory Board; and the USAf Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM)’s Student Affairs and Student Success (SASS) Programme, where he was invited to be part of the SASS Programme’s Reference Group. He has contributed several publications, including the recent journal article as part of the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS) project called New Directions for Student Services: Towards Professionalization of Student Affairs Across the Globe (2023).
